Poinsettia
Not sure I should send this off to OWH. No one in my family knew it was a poinsettia. Maybe I should try to find another focal point or change the colors.
Send it!!! I knew it was a poinsettia as soon as I saw it. It kinda reminds me of a K&Company die cut I have. I noticed that you inked the pink petals. I find those small sponge brushes are very useful for inking (and cheap). I tend to like that better than using the ink pad as it gives more control and a softer look. The other thing you could do is clump three or 5 tiny brads in a clump more like the center of a real one. How did you make this flower? Cricut?
Love it! It reminds me a lot of the card I made for the hop, actually! I do think it's obvious that it's a poinsettia-what other flower would be on a Christmas card? When I think of a poinsettia, I think of the veins in the petals. You might consider using a marker to sketch some veins on the leaves. I also agree with others that choosing one color could help. In any case, definitely send the card!

ReplyDeleteThanks guys. I think I'm going to send it, find something yellow for the middle though. Linda, yep it's cut with a Cricut.
