Warm tummies

What could be better than lots of blues and browns?

My take on a CAS, clean and simple, Christmas card.  Not your typical Christmas colors, but I like the pink/green combo.

Bows bows bows

Another Christmas card to post.  I finished three cards today in between a nap, grocery shopping, and a Walking Dead marathon.  The ornament on this card is cut from a piece of patterned paper I just had to have. The back red layer has been run through a cuttlebug to give some dimension.  I was happy with the layering but the bow not so much.  I fiddled with it for about 30 minutes and got it to look ok.

Thank you to Allison of Allison's Creations for the sketch.

Not sure I should send this off to OWH.  No one in my family knew it was a poinsettia.  Maybe I should try to find another focal point or change the colors.

Fifty-nine cards stamped and ready to go out to Operation Write Home.  I have the weekend to finish up more Christmas cards and get them out on Tuesday or they don't go out this year.  It sounds ridiculous to say my Christmas cards are done for the year when it's not even Halloween, but the OWH shippers need time to get these cards over to our soldiers.  For anyone interested in making cards to send over, the deadline is actually October 31 but as I will be out of town no more cards for me.

Cardmaking day

Saturday was World Cardmaking Day and I did get a few cards made for OWH, Operation Write Home.  Tracy and I then hooked up with some new friends at the arboretum.  Then we all went and had dinner at another friend's house.

Patterned borders

I need some ideas on how to use these patterned borders.  They are so pretty!

Patterned Paper

I often fall in love with a paper in the store but then get home and have no idea how to use it.  Yep, happened again.  This holly paper was so pretty and I just had to buy it.  When I got stuck, I turned to OWH to get some feedback on how to use it.

Challenge #3 Unique Christmas

I have a lot of trouble with CAS but I love them when someone else does them.  I think this one turned out pretty good.

OWH VCMP Challenge #2

I had a really pretty fall paper picked out for this challenge but couldn't come up with a way to use it.  So, I used my Cricut to cut out some leaves and a nice fall colored polka dot paper.  My picture isn't that great though, big surprise.

OWH VCMP Challenge #1

I hope I'm back....I haven't posted anything to my blog since before my surgery in June, although I have done some cards.  I thought this weekends VCMP would be a great way to get back into posting my cards.

More Halloween

Another OWH Sketch

I bought the crown paper a few months ago and haven't been able to use it.  Tracy suggested the green with the purple and pink.

OWH Sketch 74

I used sketch 74 for a lot of cards today.  The background paper was embossed with my Cuttlebug.

Merry Christmas

My first Christmas card for OWH.  I loosely used sketch 74.  The holly leaf was cut with my Cricut.

OWH Sketch 74

I picked up the mushroom pp at Scrapbooks Too this weekend.  First trip to this store.

New nestability

I love my new Cuttlebug!  Starting to acquire more dies, one at a time.

My favorite colors

Brown, blue, and pink.  The image is actually the bottom of a cupcake liner.  Hubby and I were walking along in Michael's and I couldn't resist.

Happy Birthday

I made a card similar to this earlier in the week.  Kristen loved the paper and I decided to try another one.

OWH Sketch 71

My fierce lil' dragon.  I'm trying to do more digital images that are colored either by copic or Prisma Color pencils.  Image by Dustin Pike.

Owh Blog Hop

It's time for the OWH Memorial Day Blog Hop.  This will be my first hop and I'm excited.  I used my new Cuttlebug with an embossing folder and my Cricut for the sentiment.

Your next stop is Crystal at Crystal's Creative Express:

Have a great Memorial Day!

Owh challenge

I've been using my Cuttlebug and the embossing plates like crazy this week.  I went back through the old tutorials on OWH and found one using a fabric softener sheet and an embossing folder.  I can't believe how much fun I had and my dining room smells really good.

OWH Sketch 70

So I know this isn't exactly the sketch that was posted, but it's close.  I picked up the bug paper when Tracy and I were in Dubuque this weekend.  I thought it was SO adorable.

New Cuttlebug

Just got a new cuttlebug and I'm going embossing crazy!

Here's my card for the OWH Midweek Throwdown.  The stamp is a digital image from Digital Delights.  You can't really see it but the card is backed on black.  I like the way it turned out.
